My Kind of Yoga is the intentional movement system for a simple no fluff and straightforward approach to yoga. It is about self-exploration and is a journey of personal discovery. Intention has to do with the heart: the power of the heart as a driving force behind all and what we do, in our yoga practice and in life. Movement has to do with body: the beauty of the human body in action, when moving with intention and awareness leads to the natural flow of energy. Emotion=energy in motion. It is a movement system that allows you to explore your internal landscape. Anatomically and physiologically we are all different. Genetically, you could argue that we are the same, but in terms of how our bodies function, and how our mind works, we are different.
My kind of yoga ™ has various sequences such as strong, grounding, energising, calming etc. As we are all different the poses and sequences can be modified to suit the individuals taking into account physical ability, fitness levels, any existing injuries, joint issues, diseases, illnesses etc.
What should also be considered is your physical and mental condition is forever changing. You could wake up one morning with a stiff neck and another with a pain in your shoulder.
One afternoon, you may have lots of energy, or you may be recovering from the flu. With all this in mind, modifying the poses helps keep it interesting and helps you stay present throughout the practice.
